Community Development Projects

Community Development

Global Partners implements community development projects that are designed to address vulnerabilities and build the capacity of local communities.  Our vision is to enable communities to help themselves, and their neighbors, through sustainable development.

Some of GP’s community development projects in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Iran, and China are featured on this site.  GP’s agricultural and livestock training centers have revolutionized farming techniques and production for local farmers in villages across Central Asia, from Tajikistan to Afghanistan.  In China, parents in underserved communities are learning how to better care for and connect with their children.  Sports projects in Iran, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan help children learn teamwork and self-confidence.  Food for work projects in remote mountain villages in the Hindu Kush are enabling villagers to rebuild their infrastructure, from roads to irrigation canals, after decades of war.  GP’s many water development projects not only bring clean water to thousands of thirsty people, but enable communities to access clean water long-term and to help other neighboring villages improve their own water challenges.

Community Development is rarely easy or quick.  But this is the way to make a lasting difference in communities, and it is the heart of what we do.

In all projects and programs, Global Partners provides broad-based assistance. Global Partners is a non-political NGO (Non-Government Organization), and does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, gender, religion, or political persuasion.
