Partnering for Education in SarePul

How do we change a nation? The real answer is that the world can’t do it. It has to start with the people of Afghanistan first. That’s why Global Partners Afghanistan is proud to partner with the local culture organization, Chiroghi Hedayat, in starting the first private school of SarePul City Center in SarePul Province. Saving Lives in Chaghcharan

“As I turned to leave the house, an old man stood up and stopped me,” Dr. Jim recalls. “‘Thank you,’ he said, ‘before you came, I was the one who made coffins for the people of Chaghcharan (chog-cha-ron) who had tuberculosis.” Dr. Jim’s cowboy boots clack against the cold floor as he hurries about the [...]

Tajikistan Water Projects

In Tajikistan, many people now have access to clean drinking water as a result of Global Partners’ work in their country. “The 2010 well-digging project in Shartuz District created six clean drinking water wells and is an ongoing project,” one GP worker said. “The project has benefited over 1,000 people so far. We will continue [...]

GP in Iran

They come to the Nematabad Training Center from many different directions and in all shapes and sizes. On that particular morning, the project manager was pleasantly surprised to find two little ones walking about the center like they belonged there. They may be too small to be participating in the center’s language and computer classes, [...]

Nematabad Training Center

In September 2009 the Nematabad Training Center was opened with English and computer classes for Afghan refugees and Iranian poor. The first year of this project has shown that there is a great need for these kinds of classes. From the first term, due to demand, many people have been placed on a waiting list. [...]

Eye glasses clinics in China

This year GP invited an eye doctor and went to ten elementary schools and one tutoring center in two counties. More than 1,700 children were tested using eye charts. Our volunteer doctor examined roughly 10% of all the students and prescribed eye glasses for about 5%. Global Partners bought and gave prescription glasses to 90 [...]
